Anna looked like she would cry when we told her there is no space for her children in American School for Children. Not only did this negatively affect her children, she could not go to the adult English classes. They would remain isolated by their lack of English.
When Water for Ishmael moves into this new building, Anna will get a “Yes.”
After years of searching, saving, and false starts, Water for Ishmael has a home base for serving Toledo area internationals. This will allow us to serve 50% more children in our preschool, better accommodate our adult learners, and set up space that feels safe and comfortable for immigrants from around the world.
We expect to close the deal sometime in November. A few renovations are necessary for us to move in; the rest can come later. We are hopeful to open our January semester in the new facility. Check out the vision that will carry us into 2020.
