We are incredibly grateful for the grant we recently received from the Toledo Community Foundation. This grant will fund our newest program: Evening ESL! In January, we will begin the the Evening ESL program for immigrants and refugees looking to learn English. Many immigrants are faced with a difficult decision: go to English classes or go to work to provide for their family. Obviously the latter takes precedence over English. With evening classes, immigrants don’t have to face that decision. They can work during the day and learn English at night.
Water for Ishmael’s vision statement is to “help every international connect, belong, and become.” With this Toledo Community Foundation grant, our vision will be better fulfilled. We will be serving a whole new group of internationals with the Evening ESL.
